Hollow Forms/Vases
Hollow forms are woodturnings that are hollow on the inside and have an opening that is smaller than the widest part of the turning.
WT1856—This handcrafted hollow form was turned by Steve from a piece of Norfolk Island Pine. Inlace turquoise was used to fill some cracks. It has been dipped in a blend of oils and buffed with a coat of carnauba wax. The dark circles on this hollow form are where the branches have grown from the center of the tree. The hollow form is 7 ¼” W x 6 5/8”H and cost $300. |
WT1762—This handcrafted bowl was turned by Steve from a piece of Cherry Burl. The turning contains some large voids and cracks and were left natural to enhance the beauty of the turning. Inlace turquoise was used to fill some small cracks. It has been dipped in a blend of oils and buffed with a coat of carnauba wax. The hollow form is 9 ½” W x 13 ½”H and cost $500. |
WT1797—This handcrafted hollow form was turned by Steve from a piece of Flaming Box Elder. The red in this wood is natural occurence. The finial was turned from a piece of cherry and painted black. It has been dipped in a blend of oils and buffed with a coat of carnauba wax. The bowl is 8” W x 10 ½”H and cost $310. |
WT2005—This handcrafted hollow form was turned by Steve from a piece of Red Eucalyptus. Inlace turquoise was used to fill some cracks. The finial was turned from a piece of cherry and painted black. It has been dipped in a blend of oils and buffed with a coat of carnauba wax. The hollow form is 5 ¾” W x 11 ¾”H and cost $250. |
WT1815—This handcrafted hollow form was turned by Steve from a piece of Curly Big Leaf Maple. The turning was dyed green and then finished with cyanoacrylate to create a high gloss finish. The finial was turned from a piece of cherry and painted black. The turning is food safe. The hollow form is 6” W x 6”H and cost $275. |
