The Shield Series
The Shield Series is a group of burl turnings that Steve creates that are either designed to be hung on the wall or displayed in a bookshelf or table. Each shield has its own unique design and bears the names of a biblical scripture or has a Biblical reference. Each shield depicts the following story:
It was a time for kings to go to war. As a result, the warrior was called to go to battle for the kingdom. The battle was quite fierce and his shield was destroyed. Because the warrior was faithful to God, God was faithful to the warrior, and was the warrior’s shield that kept him alive during the battle. Just as God is our shield everyday protecting us during our daily battles.
